Torchwood, unlike Doctor Who is based on a team instead of only the Doctor and his companion.
Torchwood is led by Captain Jack Harkness, a loner with a deep and secret past that slowly creeps out slowly through the course of Season One. Captain Jack is also a regular on Doctor Who, and is a strong character who turned up more in the latest series of Doctor Who.
Gwen Cooper, the character that really shined in the first season, we saw how she entered Torchwood, a persoanl favourite episode of mine. The scene in the hospital where she confronts her first Monster/Alien is brilliant. Gwen is played by Eve Myles who also starred in an episode of Doctor Who.
Series 2 of Torchwood will probably be a lot better, better special effects, and storylines.
because of the success of the first season, the BBC will now spend more time and money on the series and hopefully it will be on our screens for many years to come.
